If it is by today's melt value then I would say you overpaid a bit. However, I don't think you did horrible. Unfortunately, people are pricing silver for what it WAS and not what it is right now. A lot of that is because people bought a bunch at $30+ an ounce and it got do $26 and they were trying to not lose their butts. Now, I buy it as a secondary source of savings and primarily to give my son when he grows up. I have absolutely no intention of ever selling the silver I have bought while we are under our current economic system. Good luck!!

I agree with irishfan, from what I have been told by a few investor buddies of mine silver is a life long investment. Not something your likely to just turn around an make a quick buck on. All my silver is in bullion that I just leave in the safe an I never even hardly look at it. Although it looks like you overpaid a little, Just take it and stick it away. It will go back up in value just may take a while.

For some reason silver sells high on eBay. I've decided to sell of some of my silver stock in order to invest in some other things I see as becoming even more valuable in the near future. But silver is a good investment. Got most of mine when it was around $11 an ounce.

JMbullion.com is another reliable online source. Prices sometimes better than the large providers from a small company. They are also a sponsor of The Survival Podcast.

Don't fall for the "commands a high premium" on things like 10 oz bars. You will most likely pay higher then spot per oz at a typical shop, but some of the prices people want for a simple 10 oz bar is just crazy.

Thank you! I've been watching, and I HAVE been paying the ebay premium a bit (I will NOT go over 22 times face though). It seems with silver dropping, the premiums have gone UP on ebay! I've gotten some 1 ounce bullion, still looking for another $5 or so in dimes for not too much money, I will check that place out.
