My Dad always had the cleaning gear out, and was swabbing the barrel of the shotgun when my sisters invited a new date over. The girls always had change to call home if needed.(no cell phones, we saw payphones). My Mom use to chastise him, saying he was too worried, he said after smelling Hoppes, no one worries!
Can't remember any issues with 4 sisters. Hoppes does work.
I worked at a local grocery store when I was 16, and they kept a Sheriff's Campaign Hat hung up in the courtesy boot, behind the counter, in view. Never robbed. Perception.
