A buddy of mine metioned there is a gun show at the Blue Chip Casino this weekend in Michigan City. Anyone been to a show there before? Worth checking out?
I went to this show last year. It's a rather small show in comparison to some, however I did buy an M&P45c from Xz. I rather liked the show and do plan to attend again.
How is this done with the gun restrictions for casinos? Do they have gun lockers for people to secure their firearms, and how do you carry one (cased of course) in to possible trade? Not trying to wet their parade, but will the Indiana State Police be checking guns and LTCH at the doors?
The show is in the Stardust Event Center. The hotel is between the event center, and the casino. If you want to go to the casino security does have vaults that they can lock your firearm in while you are in the casino. While at the gun show it will be checked & strapped at the entrance to the show. Just don't go from the show to the casino with your firearm.
I attended it last year. It was just as good as the one in Crown Point In.
Free parking and if bad weather. You can park and walk under cover.
They check firearms like all shows I attended.
I didn't see much that impressed me. It was packed Saturday morning. I didn't think there was as much as the show in the fall but another post mentioned that there was suppose to be more dealers.
Probably the worst show I've been to in recent history. Knives outnumbered guns probably 5:1. Pitiful long gun selection and generally higher then normal pricing.
I did end up with a Galco Kingtuk for a decent price after haggling. The last show, I hit it off with the Mennonite looking guy selling cleaning supplies. So I let him talk me into upgrading my Hoppes 3 piece rod to a collection of Tiptons.
On the bright side, I was able to turn $100 into $300 at the craps table.
i went to the show. saw a couple xd9's for 399 new. glocks for 475 new. a bunch of great deals. many ar parts. all in all. pretty descent. not huge but worth going too
