Military service has been part of my family's lives on both my Father's side as well as my Mother's. Besides serving myself, my Father served in 2 wars, my Mother's brothers all served, and this service to country goes back quite a few generations. Seen below is my Great-Great- Grandfather learning to fly a Jenny (Curtiss JN-4). Some served because of duty, some were drafted but all served honorably giving back to this Country, paying for the freedom they enjoyed.
My dad served in Vietnam, my grandfather was a fighter pilot during WWII. He flew a Hellcat fighter plane off the USS Antietam. My hubby is a former Marine.
My Dad was an MP during WWII guarding German POWs
Three older brothers in Viet Nam, 1 Army, 2 Marines, all at the same time!
I quit HS on my 18th birthday, joined the Navy and volunteered to go to Viet Nam. It was pretty much ending then and I served with VA146 as an AQ. Did a short stint on the USS Constellation, CVA64.
