I have a slide with some minor rust starting. I am looking to get it neutralized and then coated with melonite, or something similar.

    Saw this place https://www.dpcustomworksllc.com/product-page/slide-coating-black-nitride

Thoughts? Is there a better route to take?

It’s an LCP II so I don’t want to spend a ton of money, but want it fixed
A rusty $300.00 pistol, I would scrub the slide with a stainless or copper chore boy soaked in oil and leave it at that.

Agreed. My G43 with tiny surface rust spots gives a little incentive to wipe it with an oily rag once in a while. The early G43's were finished with something lesser than earlier and modern models. Certainly not worth throwing money at.

Especially since you are the only one that ever sees it, right? Who is gonna show off their mouse gun?
