I looked at ordering some online to organize my ammo cans and the prices were crazy so I decided to try this myself. A label maker with some 1/2 wide label tape, some magnetic-backed dry-erase label stock 1/2 inch wide, and a paper cutter is all you need. Piece of cake.

I decided to make my labels modular so various labels could be stacked to describe the contents of each can. The .50 caliber cans have enough room for two rows of labels on the latch.

I've used magnetic sheets cut to various sizes for labels for years.

For plastic boxes I use stick on business card size holders and buy blank business card stock. You can get fancy and print the cards with your computer or just write on the blank card and stick them in the holder on your storage bin. I use these for computer parts and my wife's bins of yarn.

I've transitioned to the roll of magnetic dry erase strips. Cut to size. Works good.

I do have a bunch of pre-made ones that I've gotten thru ammocanmagnets.com. Reasonably priced (.99 per magnet) and free shipping on any order

Maybe I’m cheap but I think $0.99 per label is too much. I haven’t figured the cost per label yet but I’m sure making my own is far cheaper.
