    what's the scoop? i have a 9c and it does not have a disconnect. it is about 5 years old. a friend just bought a 40c and it does. do they all have them now? is it an option?

    It can be removed! I sold a perfectly good gun because it had a mag safety on it and was then told that it could be removed. That was a great deal that was passed along to another member, though.

    I bought a 9c with the disconnect about 8 months ago and removed it myself. Pretty easy to do.

    its an option. my m&p9 dos not have a thumb safety or mag disconnect. also on the ones without a mag disconnect there is a billboard on the slide thats says caution capable of firing without a magazine.
