Well thats interesting. How can they tell it is a copy? They use cheap pink paper that doesn't have any secret writing or pictures imprinted in it. How about laminating it?

They probably cant. However, Kirk's argument is logical. If they some how discover it is a copy, it will look like you are trying to pull something over on them, or even forge the license. It may frustrate the officer, and that is never a good thing. I think most officers would take a plain white copy.
As for the "yellow dot" tracking, that is not even relevant. That is not something an officer can do sitting in his patrol vehicle, nor is it something that most departments would do, even if they believed you were forging LTCHs. People are so paranoid when it comes to that subject. Its as if they were embedding secret tracking chips into every piece of paper you printed. The only time you will ever see that truly used is in major forgery cases, most likely currency. Anything else, its far to expensive and time consuming to accurately inspect, match, and explain the process in court.
