I currently own a SigSauer sp2022 9mm. I am looking to add a new CC pistol and I'm considering a Glock 26. Has anyone shot both of these that could make some comparisons just from their personnel experience?

Overall what are your opinions on the Glock 26?

    I love my Glock 26.

I carry it for deep concealment, so I don't use any finger extensions. I found that I can shoot it pretty accurately without them.

It's a great little gun, conceals very well.

At the range, I'll throw in a Glock 19 magazine for more rounds and more fun. :D

I don't have the 2022 but I do have the 19. I have shot the 26 but prefer the longer grip of the 19. However, after shooting the 26 it was put on the "list" to buy.

I carried the G26 for a year. Great gun. BUT . . . I found the accuracy weak. I also found the gap between the bottom plate on the mag and the bottom of the butt was a problem. I got blood blisters from shooting two mags. It only got worse with each mag. I switched to Taurus with excellent results.

If you get a G26 where the mag fits tight to the butt, you will do fine. I like the G26, but the unit I had did not work for me.

26 Is a GREAT lil carry. carry daily and shoot steel and bowling pins. Accuracy is second to none, Its not a bullseye pistol but a defensive pistol it is.

    .
The 26 is one of my BUGs and has worked out fine for years.
    .
What sold me was that it takes all the 9mm Glock mags. Whether it be the 10 round, 15 round, 17 round or the 33 rounder.

This way your EDC can be the G-15 or G-17 and just carry the large mags as your spares and they'll fit your BUG too.
In a pinch, I've found most holsters that will fit the larger Glocks will also fit the G-26.

BTW - The Pearce PG-GP Extension adds 3 more Rounds to any 9mm Glock magazine. So now the 26 can be a compact 13+1.

I try and carry in the same food group. :n00b:
    Simplify.

I haven't shot the Sig, but I am quite happy with my G26. I can pretty well keep my shots in a 4" group at 7 yards, and I'm sure the gun could do better if it didn't have me behind the trigger.

Glock 26's are awesome! Zero complaints or issues with them. Spend the extra cash and get the Gen4.

For me the Glock 26 was a great gun that I carried as my EDC for a year but I had similar, though not as severe, problems with the gap between the magazine base and the magwell as the INGO'er stated below. Sometimes it would pinch my finger but I never developed blood blisters as a result of it.
It's very easy to pocket carry or carry inside the waistband with this gun for deep concealment. But ultimately it comes down to which gun you're more comfortable with. I haven't owned the sig sp2022 so I cannot comment on it.

I too owned a Glock 26, I'm kicking myself for selling it! It was the easiest gun to conceal! It was fairly accurate too! I've held the Sig in my hand and i thought it was a tad narrow. I'm a fan of wide pistols myself.

I carry one all the time. I have a plus 2 grip extension, and carry a a G-17 mag also with a plus 2 grip extension as a spare. Easy to conceal, better than expected accuracy, 31 rounds in one mag change better be enough, or my wife will have to take over, she's my back up gun.

I haven't met too many shooters that were unhappy with their G26. Although, some don't care for the "two-finger grip." If that is the case, try these.

I love mine, but the wife sometimes carries it. She doesn't like shooting without the extended mag, so I carry it with 12+1, plus a few extra extended mags.
The gun is very accurate shooting slow and I attribute the better ccuracy of my 19 to the longer sight picture. Overall, I'm happy with either.

Been carrying a 26 for more than 10 years now. I occasionally switch it out for the 21 or a 1911, but I always come back to the 26. Never had a magazine problem like that mentioned above. Never had accuracy problems that didn't originate with the shooter or the ammo (reloads).

If you like the way Glocks fit/feel, you won't be disappointed.

I felt that if I need to have a Glock, it will be a G26. And once I have a G26, I don't see the need of having another glock because G26 shoots so well, so accurately, so reliabily, and suffers only 100 FPS or so loss in velocity in comparison to a full size glock.

Have shot both the 2022 and G26. They are completely different, and are intended for different purposes. 2022 is smooth, comfortable, and accurate. G26 is dead-on reliable, and probably the easiest way to carry 11 rounds. Both are great guns.
