    The Federal “Office of Livability”

James Oberstar (D., Minn.), chairman of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, wants to establish a federal Office of Livability that will tell Americans when they can drive, where they can drive, what they can drive, and how they will live. And of course, this will include a Livability Czar who will “ensure that States and metropolitan areas achieve progress towards national transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals.” Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood recently said he wants to “coerce people out of their cars.” Through force, LaHood said, “I think we can change people’s behavior.” LaHood, in fact, is so entirely arrogant, he actually said this at the National Press Club:
“Some conservative groups are wary of the livable communities program, saying it’s an example of government intrusion into people’s lives,” said the moderator. “How do you respond?”
“About everything we do around here is government intrusion in people’s lives,” said LaHood. “So have at it.”
My response is, How do you respond to that? Because government officials reign supreme in LaHood’s empowered world, why would anyone dare question their coercion, violence, and force? George Will, for one, was considered an ass for questioning LaHood’s forced way of life. Will referred to LaHood as the Secretary of Behavior Modification.

Yep, they're really feeling their oats right now. Pretty sassy. But there's a few who are watching us out here with some concern, and remembering Admiral Yamamoto's worry of waking a terrible giant with great resolve....

There will be no awakening of a terrible giant. True many of us are not fooled one bit. Many many more sheep are glued in front of their TV's and like Zombies suck in every bit of information poured down them by the liberal media. I know how silly that sounds but I run into people like that everyday. I'm amazed at how sheep like the mass's of America have become. Its mind boggling. Like Russia once stated, the way to take America is from within. And boy it just has not been that hard for the media to control the mass's.

Anybody realize that it is beyond the presidents scope of power to just appoint a Czar. He cannot legally do it by himself. This is Czar # what, # 13 that he has just made up and appointed someone to???
This man breaks the law daily, and no one does a thing about it!

I know how silly that sounds but I run into people like that everyday.

Eventually, the giant will awaken, and it is going to take massive, massive government intrusion into their lives. Trust me, if you look at almost every large city, the poor live in one area, the middle classes in another, and the wealthy in yet another. Goals such as the one stated here have more to do with a tax grab more than anything else.

As the population grew, the various classes also grew. What didn't happen was this blissninnie, lets all hold hands and live together growth that liberals wish they had. Instead, ghettos got bigger, and the suburbs became the new homes of the middle and upper classes. The problem with this kind of growth is that many states were made up of small counties, with various small towns and cities located close to the major urban areas. More and more tax money flowed from the larger urban centers to the smaller surrounding urban centers.

Liberal, progressive central planner types don't like this. While they love big government, they don't like big government in the form of various levels of different governments, they would rather have some supreme council dictating everyone who lives in a certain geographic area. To make the problem worse for leftist, is that this kind of system allowed for the producers to escape with their wealth to areas which won't take as much of it. This left the leftist controlled urban centers with less taxable income, and more poor consumers to feed. The entire idea that the non-elite middle and upper class folks, regardless of political beliefs, would flee and not be around poor urban trash types makes progressives sick. They demand diversity, that people live together for the common good.

Trust me, the radical leftist central planing types have one goal in mind: The force relocation of suburban types back to the urban cores. They honestly believe that they could achieve their goals of wiping out poverty and getting poor inner city kids to learn if they could just make it so they live amongst people who were living correctly.

The problem is that while most folks do have their heads stuck in the sand, they do so because they are comfortable with the way things are now. Start forcing single people to live in condo or apartment style residences and watch their attitudes change when you tell them they can't own a home because they don't "need" that kind of residence. Wait to see what people will do when they are told that two children of the same sex are going to be sharing a room, no matter what. This means that if you have two sons and a daughter plus mom and dad, you will only be approved for a home with three bedrooms. Next will be the forced public schooling, no one will be allowed to opt out. On the environmental side, they will have strict rules in place: Regulated energy usage...if you go over your allocated amount, you will pay 3-6x the going rate per BTU/kilowatt/cubic foot/etc.. This will be to punish you to use less energy. The super far left radicals will even go so far as to mandate laws to tell you what youth sports organization you can belong to. The idea that you could pay extra for your kids to play somewhere with kids like themselves will be outlawed.

This is their total goal: Control the producers and force diversity in any way possible. What these people don't realize is that the currently brain dead populace won't stand for this. Too many people want an acre or more of land. They want to be able to burn wood for heat in the winter. They want to be able to own a car for each driver in the family. We are slowly, slowly pushing government control onto people. Eventually they will not take it anymore, life won't be fun for the producers. Either three things will happen: They will riot, they will vote in people who will reverse everything, and/or they will decide that life as a producer is so hard, they will just become another government serviced consumer which will eventually collapse the system.
