I don't understand - when [do] you not want a defensive rifle that's scary?

I do... it's just that this gun isn't "scary" to politicians.
Sometimes I may find myself traveling to states, or areas that don't like the AR platform.
Their stupid laws normally don't preclude me having a levergun.

Same reason I also have a pistol lower for my SBR... for traveling.

I feel I needed to step up my photography game.
The "gun on the floor" routine is getting old...

I got this bad boy right here on INGO. My first 45-70. Marlin 1895 GBL. I have since added the XS sights, Vortex Crossfire red dot, 550 cord sling, and ammo cuff.

Dad gave me the Marlin 39m.
A good companion to my Smith 19 Rossi 357.
I’m a lever action 12 ga from having my bases covered.

Here's a picture of a lever gun in the wild.

I bought this for the first year Indiana allowed pistol caliber rifles for hunting. I was tired of paying nearly $3 each for a sabot slug and I couldn't be happier with what I bought. This rifle has two 8pt bucks to its credit and is on the never to be sold list.
    Nice! Good job!

ARs, and AKs get their own "show and tell" thread, as do precision rifles...

I think lever guns deserve their own show, and tell thread...

I'll start with my newest, a Marin 1895 GBL. Took me forever to find one at a good price, finally did, right here in the INGO classifieds... At least I'm finally in the 45-70 club.

I have wanted one for years. When it came time to buy one, I opted for the 44 mag since ther is no real reason to have the 45-70 around here other than the cool factor... but I still want one.

My compact Trapper in .357. Sweet, little rifle. Overall length is just over 32". I acquired it back in '95 or '96. Back in 2006, Winchester introduced the Trapper Compact, the year before they stopped lever rifle production. About the only difference between it, and mine is the safety location.

    Model 94 Trapper Compact

    I saw one of those sell for over $1200 on GB a few years ago. :faint: I saw one similar to mine that had scratches and blemishes that sold for $950 a few months ago. As much as I love this rifle(though I rarely shoot it anymore), I have to admit I've had thoughts about selling it considering what they're going for. But then I realize that I'd be breaking up the happy couple;
