I have a Marlin 1894 .44 Mag for deer hunting here in Indiana, but I have a mixed review. It shoots sub 2" groups at 100 yards, and I've killed 3 bucks with it so far (1 at 120 yards). The shroud over the front sight came off after less than 10 shots of a light load and hasn't been back on since because I use a 3-9x40 scope. I've replaced the buttstock due to a fracture near the receiver (The wood is really thin through there.). The metal edges around the ejection port are really sharp. It's a fun gun to shoot, and it will be with me come November.
