Actually, cops are paid by governments which equals all of their equipment is provided by lowest bidder. Governmental equipment committee's decide what they like in a firearm, belt, boots, truck, car etc.......etc...... They then put out the specs they like in said piece of equipment or whatever. Then the bidding starts.......Glock can just afford to provide all the likable features at the cheapest rate.
On a side note i'm not on either side of this argument....to me guns are like motorcycles, beer, and well uhhhhhuuuummmm that other thing guys like a lot. Like them all, haven't found one I didn't like!
I gave up on THAT argument decades ago. I like certain atributes of Ford and GM.
Hell, I even like Toyota and Nissan full-size PU's (anything but Dodge! ).
Gun's are a lot like women...they come in all sizes, and shapes, with varying "accessories". Some you just want to have fun with while not wanting anyone to know about it, why others you would take to Prom on your arm. And everyone's taste on this matter varies. Which is why we have variety...and choices.
[SNIP]I'll stick with the SIG and the Wheel guns. Let harsh words begin!!![/SNIP]
How TRUE! I live by these commandments!
I carried a Glock for about a year. I recently traded it for a SIG. Why? Because the SIG is easier for me to conceal. I like Glocks, they're made to shoot, not to look pretty. Never touched a 1911 though. Glocks are ugly yet effective, if the offer for the SIG had not popped up when I offered it, I wouldn't trade the Glock for anything else.
