I thought, like micro-stamping and gunpowder taggants, the science was settled on smart guns, i.e. it won't work with today's technology. I guess Liberals just love zombie technology policy. Their discreditted ideas just won't stay dead.

Hell, if you're gonna start making public policy on high-tech guns based on something you "saw once in a movie", I'm surprised they didn't take their inspiration from the Lawgivers in Judge Dredd (1995).

Remember, only stupid people need smart guns.

Ooh ooh ooh I have an idea! How about bullets that only hit bad guys and guns that measure your level of badness so only good guys can use them. Well I solved everyone's problems. You're welcome.

So simple now that someone has thought of it! Brilliant sir, and I submit this is a better idea than any the commanding socialists have come up with so far.

Or how about all violent felons and folks with mental illnesses get microchipped, which would deactivate any smart gun?

But that would violate privacy concerns, so we couldn't have that!

Probably written by the same guy who wanted to require flux capacitors on every automobile by the year 1990. This one has about as much chance of passing. Wish we could give him a free ride in Doc Brown's DeLorean, to Lexington Green, 1775.

Dems offer gun control bill inspired by latest James Bond movie 'Skyfall' - The Hill's Floor Action

These idiots... every one of them. They want guns to have biometric signatures to recognize the owner.

No thanks, when SHTF, I want to be able to hand a gun off to someone without it malfunctioning.

    Morons.

And of COURSE this law will only apply to the "common unwashed".

I would suggest we do a multi year trial run of this technology starting with ALL people who guard our government officials from the top down, as well as ALL agencies of law enforcement.

Then when we, the "common unwashed" see how well it works fort them, I'm SURE we'll all be lining up to have the benefits of it for ourselves.

The "lightstrike" version of laser tag guns available inside stores like Walmart and Meijer have a fake biometric lock. It just says fingerprint accepted, it doesn't really care whose finger touches it. I thought it was pretty neat. But aside from it being neat, I don't want my firearms to have it because I may need someone else to use it for me.

And poison dart shooting Voodoo doll figurines!! And a lighter that's a stun gun!! And a perfume bottle flame thrower!! And a yo-yo saw!! And a coffee maker...

As long as we're doing James Bond wishlists, I would like some henchmen and an island volcano lair.
