This may be a surprise to you, but you're not the first person to think that... Prying with a folder is no bueno. The whole possibility of death by airborne blade has me shying away from that.

It's actually broken a lot farther back than any of the knives I've handed to my wife before I realized she wanted it to pry something open.

I also found it odd that it broke through the hole for the thumb stud.

Mailman was nice today...I was so impressed by this knife at the Chop In that I picked one up....so far, IMO, its my best bang for your buck in folders....very neat and clean, no big gaudy names everywhere.

It's a Hogue EX-01 with OD aluminum handles in the 4" variant designed by Allan Elishewitz

    It's darker in person

Stone wash finish is as good as I have ever seen. Also, I can't explain to you how nice the action is, amazing!

Lock up is perfect, and blade is pretty close to perfect on alignment

Why did you stop halfway? Couldn't finish?:dunno:

    ;)

    Thats what she told him!:n00b:

Well you know it was early in the morning and I was kind of just going through the motions ;)

Truthfully though, that tree snapped back in April and got hung up in some other trees. I figured it would be good to chop on, but when I stopped to look at the damage, I noticed that I was a little over half way through and didn't feel like running through the woods from a falling tree wearing shoes that are falling apart carrying a giant piece of 5160 that's .258" thick with over a 14" blade :D

I could have easily made it through though, the thing is a beast.
