Personally, from having my formerly owned CW-40's frame break... I don't recommend them. (Nor any of their polymer framed .40 S&W pistols).

I just don't think their frames are stout enough to withstand the round count needed to develop proficiency with a carry firearm in .40.

On MY pistol, part of the frame side rails split off. It may very well not have hindered function, as it wasn't a load bearing surface... But still. It looked like someone had taken a knife and whittled up a sliver of plastic on top of the slide. I did contact Kahr. They paid for shipping back to them and replaced the frame. They then shipped it to my FFL dealer where I had to fill out another 4473. THEN the new frame's mag catch wouldn't hold the mag in. It was, again, shipped back to Kahr on their dime - then shipped back to me at home with a new mag catch. I made sure it functioned 100% then sold it at full disclosure.

I think you'll be much better served with a CW-9 (if you can find one).

It ssems to me that they do have more problems with .40 small carry guns. I too would stay with a 9mm in the smaller carry guns. My CW9 has been the best firearms I have owned. Jim
