I don't want to come off as over the top, but maybe this can be a reminder and also a way for me to vent.
My neighbor called me over as I was getting in my car. I really don't care for the guy as it is. Short with big ego type. He was standing there along with a friend of his. He pulls a glock out of his holster to show me holding it sideways with it pointed at my gut. I push the muzzle to the right of me and say, "please don't muzzle me." He goes to immediate anger,"IT'S OK, there is not one in the chamber." I tell him, " I don't care what makes it ok in your mind I don't feel comfortable being muzzled." All this time his friends mouthing off too. To prove his point he furiously pulls the mag out and pulls back the slide. Guess what?! A round ejects!! His next words, " Well my finger wasn't on the trigger." The whole time his friend repeating him like a parrot. I finally just walked off cause it was getting heated. The more I think about it the more angry I am! This is not a kid either late 30s. Hell I'm 25, I knew not to do that at 5 or 6.
I guess this was mostly a vent, but maybe a warning too. Don't trust people, always count it as loaded, and if you are corrected apologize and move on. We have been there. Indy 1500 I turned with a shotgun and accidentally swept a guy. He didnt say a word, but I apologized and was embarrassed even if he didn't think it was a big deal. If I'm doing something maybe my brain shut off. Tell me and trust me ill thank you and apologize. This was a gun straight from a holster though that sure makes me a lot more antsy than a gun show! Today proved rightfully so!
