Got MY new DPMS AR in today. 16" Barrel, 2 mags, case, out the door for 725. Im happier than a fat kid locked in a chocolate shop!

Do I want to go ahead and slap a scope on it or go with iron sights?

And if I scope it, whats the difference between the short looking scopes, and the traditional ones? Any? (Another n00b question I know.)

I, personally, would get some iron site time in. when your confortable with them, then put a scope on if so desired. my 2 cents

I mean, this isnt my first gun, and I have experience with Iron Sights, just not on an AR (obviously since this is my first one to own)...

I do believe in building my skill level up from the ground up too, so running Iron Sights is def. good with me. Just looking to keep my options open too.....
