Selling for my Sis in law. It is NOT stainless. On a form 5 transfers on a form 4 ($5 tax stamp) as an AOW. She has done four form 4 transfers without issue. She has BATFE fingerprint cards and the latest form 4s.
This is a factory Stakeout and I believe this hasn't been shot since Ithaca had it. Unsure of the finish, but I think it's hard chrome. Added more pictures to show condition. It's easily in 99% condition. Receiver is marked Mag and is chambered 2 3/4 and 3 inch (ouch). This has a 13.5 inch barrel and is 22.5 over all length. These generally sell at higher end Auction sites...FTF Southside of Indy. .....$1100.....one time price drop.....$1000.
After transferring as an AOW. Pretty sure this could be a Form 1 short barrel shotgun for $200. You wouldn't have to pay the $200 making tax. It would be a lot more useful.
Edit to add. Had a question about whether it would "slam fire". Using a primed empty case it will not fire without resetting the trigger.
