Left wingers want to regulate, micromanage, and dictate everything in our lives down to even our thoughts.

No amount of compromising with them will ever be enough.
And when you do, they'll immediately move on to the next thing they want to control.

Realistically, nothing. The evaporation of the gas you inevitably spill trying to work with the abominable things more than offsets any evaporation quantity from the old cans

My old timey gas can has a cap for the nozzle, and a cap for the vent. Nothing is escaping with both of those in place. When I'm ready to pour, it's flip, flip, pour. Easy-peasy.

But we've known this for decades. Had plenty of time to stop it or slow it down.

Often we are guilty of accusing others what we ourselves are guilty of.

How is that applied here? We fail to take responsibility for our laziness. We constantly say people need to take responsibility for their actions, in many ways we are no different. We can point to thousand excuses but none hold any weight. We knew long ago and today we suffer the consequences of our lack of responsibility.
