Is it legal to hunt deer with a .243 in a pistol in the state of Indiana?
I think your question is... Is a .243 Winchester a legal cartridge legal to hunt deer with in Indiana. As there are different guns that fire a .243 round via wildcat loads. Plus .243AI (ackley improved).
I met you at Indygunworks shop and saw your .243 pistol (very nice indeed). It shoots a .243win cartridge. That is not legal to hunt with in Indiana.
HERE IS WHY:

We (bfgcartridges) specialize in maximizing the potential within the
definitions of the Indiana "Pistol Caliber Rifle".
The rifle cartridge must:
(A) have a bullet of three hundred fifty-seven thousandths of an
inch (.357) diameter or larger;
Does Not meet requirments .243 <.357
(B) have a minimum case length of one and sixteen hundredths
(1.16) inches; and
Meets requirements.... .243 case is about 2.0449
(C) have a maximum case length of one and six hundred
twenty-five thousandths (1.625) inches
Does NOT meet requirements ......... A .243 case is about 2.0449 > 1.625
