My dad had a .22 that went back a couple generations, but I don't know what became of it. I hope it finds its way to me ultimately. I did get his MkI, and I have a 10/22.
Every time I go out shooting, I have a little fun with the largerguns but end up tiring of them very quickly.
Then, I spend a lot of time shooting a little Rossi pump that is just a too much fun.
My favorite gun to shoot yet.
Love my 22s! Always looking for my next one. My inventory so far.
1 Marlin 60 my first rifle, got it for christmas when I was 13
2 10/22s
1 77/22
1 Winchester 9422m
1 old pump labeled Nitro King
Gee, guys, I was hoping there would be loads of neat pics on this thread...Where are they? Here is a Remington number 1 1/2 in .22 that I shoot once in awhile.
This is my Winchester model 1890 in .22 LR.
Remington Nylon 66 that is mint but I still shoot it some.
I've been a Confirmed .22 Rimfire Junkie as long as I can remember. Have never been without at least a couple, and presently own at least 18 assorted longarms and five handguns so chambered. Once upon a time, when I had a good deal more disposable income, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to get a nice used one if the price was right, and/or it was something 'interesting' and 'different'.
I'd try to post some pics, but we're still on a dial-up connection which often makes that difficult and extremely time consuming. We're checking out the new FO outfit that's come to town, so that may change soon.
Gotta agree with Dross, too: If I could only have one rifle, it'd be a .22 RF. My real problem would be trying to choose which one!
That is a fantastic idea - it's good to take newbies out, but one gets nervous when they handle your favorite hardware. A garage sale Model 60 is perfect.
-10/22 in stainless
-pre-safety 39M which will never be equaled
-Model 67 fingergroove w/beautiful black walnut tigerstripe figure
-on the lookout for a garage sale loaner; maybe I'll paint it blaze orange
Whenever I come across a bolt action single shot rifle in .22LR or .22 Magnum, I almost instantly whip out the cash. I love those things, and they are the best at teaching a young prospective shooter the basics of firing a rifle and hitting the target. The first rifle, heck the first gun, I ever shot was a .22 and we made that coffee can dance...my dad, my grandpa, my uncles, my cousins, and I. Lot's of good memories in those things.
