I would guess that at least 95% of the members on here own 1 or more .22 rifles. It's hard to beat a little plinking with one on a lazy summer afternoon, and most of us started shooting with one as a child. How about sharing the ones you own, including a little history if you think it is noteworthy.
I consider myself very lucky to have acquired the guns that I own. I shoot all but one of my .22's. The one I don't is just too pretty or fancy for me to shoot it. It is a Marlin model 39 Century Limited that is heavily engraved and gold inlayed. Bought it for myself as a retirement present to me. Nobody else would!! Bought it for a song from a shop that didn't know what it was worth.
I have another Century Limited that is in exc. condition and I shoot it a lot.
Have A Marlin 1897 deluxe that I shoot sparingly with sub-sonic ammo only.
I own an Anchutz model 1422 DCL that is the most accurate .22 I ever owned. Still wonder how they do it over there....
There are 2 Mossberg model 46 B's that are different. One is pre-war and the other is about 1948. Both are very accurate.
Remington model 34 is an oldie that was well cared for and accurate.
Winchester model 61 came from a garage sale in Florida. Paid $40 for it. A real hoot to shoot! Also have a model 1890 in L.R. that is nice and a good shooter
3 single shots- Remington 1 1/2 rolling block from about 1880.
Remington model 6
Stevens model 44
Have 3 Marlin model 60's that all came from garage sales. Good loaners....
Weatherby model XXII that is the most accurate semi-auto I have ever owned. Fine workmanship in Italy on this one.
Remington model 12C that is an honest 96% or so gun. Great shooter.
2 Remington nylon 66's - one black, one brown.
Old Stevens model 87 with plastic stock
Marlin model 881 bolt action.
I can't think of any more right now. Dang, didn't know I had that many
here. There are few that I intend to sell. Always did like .22 rifles....Next
