What all is involved in checking your gun at the security office? You just sign your name they give you a ticket and a lockbox?

They have a check station/safe for your handgun. I talked to one of the gaming officers there on the phone a couple years and posted his response on ARFCOM. The area is slowly developing. I live 7.5 miles from the casino.

SLOWLY is the key word here.

The sour economy isn't helping, the tourist trade ain't showing up, and the Town Board spends money they don't have in pocket like a crew of drunken sailors.

Most of the buildings that were empty three years ago, are STILL empty.

Back on topic; I lock my handgun in my car before I enter the casino.

If I decide to walk to 33 Brick Street, The Colonial, or the Legion, I simply re-arm and then stroll back through the Hotel. Less than a 10 minute walk.............

I work in Shelbyville and have lunch sometimes at Indiana Live Casino. They've got No Gun (or possibly says weapons) signs at the entrance there, along with security inside the door.

Ah. I see you know all about that!!!!

    Speed trap heaven!

Thumbing their nose at the clowns in French Lick, in my opinion, who would rather not have the "tourists" messed with.

It is a comedy. Fools leading fools, in my opinion.

Heck; there is a possibility we may even know, or know of, each other.

    Regards!!!!!

I work in Management in one of the casinos in SE Indiana. The Riverboat gun ordinances most definitely apply for French Lick, Shelbyville, and Anderson. All of these properties are regulated by the Indiana Gaming Commission so the same rules listed in the copy and paste on page 1 of this thread are law once you get past casino turnstiles. If you were caught carrying into a casino it would not be a good experience whatsoever. The State would throw the book at you. Even on duty ISP, County, and local PD have to get permission to walk past turnstiles with a weapon and must have an IGC Agent or Security with them. Brinks has to get clearance on a daily basis and has to have Security with them and have a dedicated Surveillance Agent tracking there every step while on property.

Sounds like more security than at Fort Knox. :dunno:

I guess when you are robbing people without a gun, you definitely don't want your broke and possibly inebriated/unstable "customers" to be armed.
