Saw that earlier. I would rather stay with automatic ear pro. Forget to push your button in and you could cause some hearing damage. Just my $.02

I have seen this before, I think it is a good option for some people considering that some of the similar electronic options are $400+

I don't know how much they are, but my first take is blah. If connected by a chord with a switch, that would be better. Like the pause control on headphones.

I prefer the automatic functionality of etymotics gsp.

I think this is all passive and not electronic. The button appears to plug a hole similar to how you have the bypass holes on the EP series from Surefire.

So almost like pulling the plugs out of your ears when not in use but without having to use a lanyard or worry about dropping them.

I too am in the "Meh" camp. I'd go EPs with lanyards if I had to have plugs. Otherwise I'll stick to my Tactical Sports...

But if you like them, more power to you.

I think that the ad states that they reduce 30db closed and 19db open. Don't know how I feel about that.

I've been doing some research on hearing protection lately, I'd like to know a little more about their stats as well and ratings for impulse sounds vs constant sounds (engine noise vs gun shot). The exact specifics of the terms slip my mind at the moment.

In any case, looks like it's foam tips for the 30
The closed valve will now protect your hearing by giving you 30dB of noise reduction with the foam tips (24 dB noise reduction with silicon tips).

24db for pistols is fine but honestly I prefer more protection with rifles.
