Indy Car Drop in Indy last night...

I'm not sure if Indy plans on making it an annual thing...but that Indy Car Drop thing around Bankers life last night sure looked like a good time.

Anyone go?

The Fox 59 coverage was really trying to over-sell it. You could tell even they thought it was lame.

It looked kind of dangerous too. I've been around cranes, lifting loads and whenever you see that load swinging and swaying like that...there's a pucker factor I reflexively sense.

No engine in them, so the weight is less. Cars are designed to shatter on impact, to help absorb energy... it's all good

My thought exactly. The countdown was just a bit rushed, guessing the new definition of a second is no longer a "second". Not to mention the TV station I watched it "live" was a few seconds off.

We were there like the last 15 min before the drop. The party was pretty cool but the drop was pretty lame. Not high enough so it didn't drop very far. In theory it could be really cool if they got it up in the air higher.

Amazingly as cold as it was once you got huddled together with all the other people it was fine.
