Looking for money. That's all that is. Other countries and some states have problems every now and then ticketing people because they can't prove someone was driving. Just because my car is speeding doesn't make me the one driving.

Isn't it just like Indiana to be so behind the times that, just when all other states where they have engaged in this revenue generation gambit are abandoning it due to extreme unpopularity and for the accidents that it has actually caused, we have pinhead state legislators who want to bring it here?

They have red lights in work zones now?

Someone needs to slow down before posting and yeah, I've been there too.

OP's title is misleading. Article mentions speed cameras in construction zones, not on red lights. However, I agree that it would be a waste of money and time.

Speed cameras aren't at all the same thing as red light cameras.

I will agree that installing speed cameras IS the same thing as installing red light cameras = revenue generation.

You know what would slow people down in construction zones? The same thing that would stop people from running red lights: having actual police officers at areas of high violation rate, issuing tickets.

It wouldn't hurt if relatively minor road projects didn't take months upon months to complete or if construction zones didn't extend into areas, (sometimes for miles), that are obviously not under active construction.

I don't think either one would matter. There exists a certain subset of drivers who will still speed, pass, race to the front of the line and force their way in, and drive recklessly around construction workers.

(And construction zones - especially lane closures - would work much more smoothly if police actually ticketed people for passing and racing to the front of the line.)
