This 1911 was given to my Dad when he graduated from St John's Military Academy in 1949. It flew with him on bombing missions in the "Haulin Ass" during Korea and in KC 97s and KC 135s in Vietnam. When I graduated from St John's in 1978 he gave it to me. It is a 1948 C serial number gun, the first year production for civilians following WWII. I shoot it a good bit today and will go to one of my nephews down the line.
