Given the current market dynamics, I think you probably paid a fair market price for it. Good carbine that should serve you well. Get ready to spend a few more hundred $$ on "accessories" for it now.

I got the Stag Model 1 and it is nothing but reliable. BTW Stag is owned by CMT who also manufactures a lot of parts for other "high tier" AR companies.

Bought a model 3 at a LGS for a similar price (little less, but a mdl 3 is no frills basic) last week myself.
