Yesterday, I went shopping for what is intended as my primary home-defense handgun (and carry gun once my Indiana license comes through). From the beginning, I'd intended to get a 1911.
And so I went down to the gun shop where I also do most of my shooting. Since I'm kind of budget conscious, I looked over several used ones they had--a Norinco, a Rock Island Armory, and one other I don't remember. However, sitting on the shelf above, for only about $100 more was a brand new Taurus PT 1911 AR, that just called out my name.
One NICS check later, I'm on my way home with the new Taurus.
