I've thought about getting a Killswitch installed on my car for quite awhile. This might sway me to get one.

As for the dudes with guns, legally don't think you can go out and confront them or just open fire on them. So guess I just gotta let them do they're idiocy.

Nothing illegal about confronting them, though tactically beyond stupid. They are pointing the guns at houses, and presumably at you if you're watching them (I get this is through a camera system in this instance). Opening fire on someone pointing a gun at you is legally defensible, though if you want to get in a shootout with multiple suspects over a car theft is a different question.

The saying "just because it's permissible doesn't mean it's beneficial" fits here

There is a news story out there about a guy near Sox Park in Chicago that was carjacked. They got his keys and sent him on his way. They couldn't figure out how to start the car for whatever reason so they chased him down a block and killed him. This was a few years ago.

But somewhere somebody will design a “training doctrine “ around this scenario and sell false confidence and exaggerated skill to Someone

Unless I have a whole squad or fire team with me I’m not getting into it for a piece of property!

Everyone else can do whatever they want with theirs!
