Taurus pt140, I think it was $360 new, terrible mistake. It would drop the mag ever so slightly when firing that the next round would fail to chamber. Granted they fixed it under their lifetime warranty, but a headache none the less.
I paid $430 for a Ruger P89 in 9mm in 1994. This was just after Bill Clinton signed the "Crime Bill" so the prices were up a little. I have never looked back!
My first handgun purchase was a Taurus PT92 back in 1990. I think I paid 259.00 for it. I was still in the service and wanted something similar to the Beretta 92 which I was very familiar with. I was not living in Indiana at the time and had to put up with a "waiting period" before I could pick it up.
With tax $439.77 for a new Stainless S&W 645 way back in the late 80's, sold it for $325 and put it toward a XD 45 tacticle and a XD HC SC in 40 about 6-7 years ago. It shot 230grn FMJ's and HP's well, but any lighter bullets would consistently hit anywhere from 12-18" low at 25yrds.
Browning HP-9 for $329.99 before tax. Right before the Brady Bill was passed so it came with the factory 13 round mags.....I know not a real impressive round count by today's standards but it beat the 10 things were changed to.
My first handgun was a Springfield stainless loaded 1911 and it cost me right under 900 dollars. It is still in my collection and I will never part with it.
Colt Frontier Scout .22. Bought it in 1967 for $50.00. Sold it back to the friend I bought it from for a great profit. Wish I could get that Return on all my investments
