My first handgun was a $600 glock 22 from H&H Firearms (now Freedom Firearms) in fort wayne, got it cuz I wanted one and to carry one... My second handgun was a model 638 S&W .38 special snubby, carried it more than my glock.
Looking back, wish I'd had more help regarding actual carry of the weapon and self defense from the salesman and save me $600, guess thats not what he's there to do. Havent been back since
If you're lookin for your first handgun: 1st: Find the best fit in your hand, and how you're going to carry it. 2nd: Look for other weapons with similar style/size that fityour budget. If this is for a 'nightstand' gun, IMO see rule 1. Do your best to not wind up with a $600 regretful purchase.
*Edit, just noticed the date of the post, so... nvm.
I was 12yrs old bought a harrington richardson (11 shot?) revolver .22. Paid $50 for it. Thing shot terribly. I was only 12 though so might have just been me lol.
