A year or two ago I saw them all the time just South of $600, but now they seem to be just North of $600.
So $625 isn't too bad, but I would try to get a new one for $595 or less. This was going to be my next gun, but I decided to go with a 1911 in lower caliber (saved enough shooting it to pay the for gun already, but I think I will take the .45 back out - perhaps today).
You might give ZX Guns a call. They might be a little drive for you, but if your car gets reasonable fuel economy, their prices are usually way below others.
Unless you're planning on keeping it as an unfired safe queen I would recommend looking for a nice used one. They're always popping up for sale and some are unfired. I got a really nice used one for $400 about a year ago.
I'd buy used if you do plan on shooting it. You can save a lot of money for a gun that has been barely used. Also, you can buy nearly every single part on the gun to replace for fairly cheap as it gets more heavily used. Typically, you can buy used but in like new condition for around $400-$450. I would also recommend contacting Indy Tactical Supply in Mooresville to get a quote on ordering one. They quoted me $525 for a new one not too long ago. I don't know what they would quote now, but he is typically cheaper than even PSS.
Then I would stick with a used one personally. They are a superb design (obviously, otherwise you probably wouldn't want one). You can save a lot of money buying used and still get in like new condition. Really, the only reason to stick to buying new is if you plan on leaving it in its box and making it a safe queen. But, it's your purchase and your opinion, simply a matter of what you prefer to do.Unfortunately, my truck gets a mere 12mpg. So roughly $60 for the trip doesn't end up being worth it. I should buy a smart car, THEN a Beretta.

That's fine if it's what you prefer. I've saved a LOT of money through gunbroker and only ever had one problem and that wasn't even with the item, just the seller not contacting me. Other than that you'll just have to babysit ads here and Armslist.comNow if i could only find one used that someone wants to part with. I'm not comfortable with using a site such as gunbroker.com. I need to be able to see what I'm about to purchase. Just the way I prefer.
Really? Not according to their website. It's listed at $660. Add the drive from Fort Wayne and I'll have to pass.
