I'd like to see what people are doing as far as customizing their weapons. I've been tinkering around with a couple of my guns and decided to add some color. I used Testors flat enamel model paint. Took a little time, but I dig it.
Thanks for the complements. As far as durability... I'm not sure. I just did it last week. Although, I'm not too concerned since the amount of paint I used didn't even make a dent in the bottles (the smallest ones I could find) that I purchased. Each color cost like a buck fifty.
This is a fairly common practice, I would like to see someone who does it to scrollwork on a gun. It would immitate a black and white vs. color tatoo I would imagine..... Or maybe Ill try it myself someday. Any other enhancements other than color?
I've seen a ton of this type of thing, but I thought they looked cool. I painted in the color with a model brush, let it dry for about 5 min, then scraped the excess off with a business card. I let it dry again for 10 min or so then used a gun patch with a touch of paint thinner (dabbed most of it off on paper) and lightly rubbed off the remaining excess. I would love to have a scroll job on it, but that isn't in my price range or skill set. If someone has done something like scrolling, I'd like to see it.
