The safe on the left came up on Facebook marketplace for $250. They were selling it cheap because they had lost the combination. The door was open so I knew I could figure the combo out. I actually bought a smaller floor safe for $50 about a year ago in the same way and was able to figure it out, so since this was also a Sargent and Greenleaf lock, I knew I could do it.
I did some research and this is a Heritage safe company safe. They sold out to a Chinese company about 10 years ago. I used wayback and found their old website https://web.archive.org/web/20060429180006/http://www.heritagesafe.com/index.html. This looks to be one of the lower price models but the door is a solid 3/16" plate steel and the walls seem pretty hefty. It weighs almost 600 lbs.
I was just curious if anyone had any experience with this company. It seems to be a pretty solid safe. Definitely better than the cheap one I had before.
