Just finished up the 4th iteration of this 5 day, 1,000 round class I’ve taught with Erick Gelhaus over the last couple of years. Quite a difference from the earlier days in that there were no mount or optic failures other than a Holosun battery tray coming adrift. The quality and robustness of the optics themselves seems to have gotten better and more people are seeing the benefits of direct mounting rather than using plates, which have been a major point of failure in the past. Some of us remember the ‘wild west’ days with carbines, when it seemed like every week the hot setup was changing: which model EOTech was holding up, what color magazine follower was most reliable, etc. It feels like we’re finally passing out of that phase with pistol mounted optics. I’m teaching a 350 class starting tomorrow. It’s not specifically for PMOs, but roughly 60% of our clients show up with them. If they’re the future, it’s here now.

What is a gunsite 250? What is a 350 class? What is PMO's
The 250 is Gunsite’s 5 day defensive pistol course. Lectures, squarecrange, night shoot, live fire runs through a couple of shoot houses. The 350 is the next level, also 5 days and emphasizes movement. Also includes night runs through the shoot houses and outdoor washes. PMO - Pistol Mounted Optics.
