So after much curiosity about a 1911 and .45acp I got to test both out with a Norinco 1911A. The recoil was less than I expected, really being more of a snap. As far as the 1911 I liked it. Very smooth. Accuracy wise I was ok, nothing special. I did love the power behind the .45 round. Did lots of damage. As far as a .45 my personal choice would be for the FN Tactical .45 for the moment.

I hope you didn't have any Glocks, because if you did you won't want them anymore.

my first handgun i ever shot was a Government Colt .45acp...never looked back. Shot them all and still the Colt was the best.

    Why do people say this?

I love my 1911 but I carry my G22 more often.

Why must people try to pretend that only one pistol style is good? Why can't there be multiple tools that perform well?

Oh, I just enjoy stiring up Glock guys.

It's quite easy usually. MAke one joke about a square plastic pistol with no safety and they usually come onut of hte woodworks! I love my 1911. nothing feels as natural in my hand as one. Part of my problem with the glocks, they feel so alien to me and don't fit me right.

If you are thinking of buying a 1911, start saving up for 3 of them. After buying the first, at least two more are not far behind, so you might just as well start preparing right now.

My 1911 was the first handgun i ever bought. It's one of my "gotta have" guns. I got the Springfield 1911 .45 ACP GI edition. A little pricey, yes. But once you squeeze off a few rounds any doubt of the purchase quickly leaves your mind. ;)

I shot my 1st 1911 a few months back. I really wished I hadn't because now I have to have one. It is taking forever to save for it though.....

Congrats on your first 1911 interaction....shoot a few more different ones and you will find yourself filling out a 4473 very quickly!
