    I watched the film tonight & was struck by the SHTF example provided by the fall of Atlanta. In this case SHTF means Sherman Hit the Fan.

    The war part of "GWTW" (the REAL SHTF) was Gen. Wm. T. Sherman and his march through Georgia to the Sea. Which is by many considered a pivotal moment in the Civil War. So many American boys of either side were being shredded and eaten by the then-new science of war, that it almost sickened Tecumseh. He had a pre-Patton vision of stopping the war by going 100% at its root, across the South's geography, seizing or destroying all war-compliant things and people in the way. And the will of the South to keep fighting. It was pure, mobilized terrorism in the first state. It not only worked, but it is still working. War is not a matter of making anyone love you - not even your own troops. BTW, the South still does not see him this way.
    Never seen the movie...
