My oldest son came over the other day to get his birthday present(a hex reciever Mosin Nagant) and brought some wax slugs with him. He's been wanting to try them out since I told him how to make them. We shot them at a couple steel skillets. Here is a short video of me shooting one round. I was really surprised at the damage from a trap load of 8 shot with a little parafin in it.:D

My son says wax slugs will be just the thing for blowing up old harddrives and computers.:D

Forcing half of the plastic casing through the barrel....Wonder what, if any is the increase in pressure going to be.

Cut shells were an expediency when slugs were scarce, but I wouldn't do it now. Wax would be more friendly to the barrel. For hard drives, I'd go with thermite, but I'm just a pyro like that. Heh heh, FIRE FIRE!!

The Part 4 video linked after that one is interesting. 444 Marlin shot out of a .410. I expected a big failure. Actually didn't seem to damage the gun. Still not a smart thing to do. :)

Holy cow. Part 5, it fires a .454 Casull with no damage.
