I should probably rephrase that. You will get to see me miss a lot with a glock.
Hmmm? In that case I may not shoot. There will be a LOT of camera work to do!!

In all seriousness, I may not shoot, just run the video camera instead. It is hard to do both and a camera on a tripod is not fluid enough to capture all the precious moments. If IndyB brings his camera again we can put his on a tripod and I will range around so to speak.

But there is one possible cause of my missing the shoot, odds are low right now.

Josh, I will be there and I can bring you 2 mag for a P22.

Thank you Cwood. I will look forward to it.

If you are referring to the Walther P22 .22 cal mags, I have 2 I can bring. Gotta see what's on the work calendar for Friday though.

Thanks for the offer Muncie. It sounds like Cwood has committed to being there, but feel free to bring yours anyway, if it's not a hassle. Also, if you need a decent excuse for your wife/boss/self/mom, you can say "Well, I already told Josh he can borrow my mags, so I have to go." :D

Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Why is all the fun stuff located far away from me? :dunno:

Are you familiar with North Porter County Conservation Club? It's off Old S.R. 49 (aka Calumet) near 49, by the Wizard of Oz shop. Go East and South on Calumet from 49, and its a few hundred yards down on the east side of Calumet. The club matches are open to the public. Some folks have complained about membership hurdles, but it's a nice club and because it's not open to the public, there is a decreased chance of morons. Besides, the membership requirements don't matter if you just want to shoot in matches. They do IDPA, Steel, USPSA (IPSC) and I think some cowboy stuff too.

There are probably a variety of fun events near enough to you to drive.

Keep an eye on this site: indygunracers.com - home

Thanks for the site, I will take a look now and then. :yesway:

Actually it's funny you mentioned that. I had a friend of mine take me there pretty recently, I think it was either Friday or Thursday. That is a pretty nice range, I plan on becoming a member as soon as I get the $$$ for fee's.

    Shooters,
Our Friday Night Steel match will be this Friday, March 13th at 6 pm. We will have 5 challenging courses of fire. We will begin course setup at 5:00 pm, and we'll need help from volunteers. We will have sign-up at 5:15 pm and a shooters meeting at 6:00 pm to explain the rules and to form squads. At 6:15 pm sharp, we plan to begin shooting. We'll be charging $10 for club members and $15 for non-members, with all money going towards the club or new steel targets. Shoot an additional gun for only $10 with your first paid entry.
FNS is conducted under a COLD RANGE. That means all guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. You may only handle your gun at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas! Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification.

    * PLEASE TAKE NOTE *
We have Friday Night Steel bumper stickers available for purchase. They can be purchased during sign in at all Friday Night Steel events.
If you wondered where to purchase the Friday Nights Steel gear that some of the RO’s were wearing. You can now purchase Official Friday Night Steel shirts and hats at Café press

    * PLEASE MAKE A NOTE AS THIS HAS CHANGED *
Due to inflation, we have raised prices to $10 for club members and $15 for non-members, with all money going towards the club or new steel targets. Shoot an additional gun for only $10.00 with your first paid entry. This puts us at the same cost as many of the other local steel matches, and much less than many of the USPSA matches. Our goal is to help offset the rising costs of insurance, fuel, and taxes so that we provide a financially stable club for many generations to come.

    * PLEASE MAKE A NOTE AS THIS HAS CHANGED *
Marion County Fish and Game allows the sighting in of rifles in the calibers of 38 special, 357 magnum, 44 special, and 44 magnum, provided that the rifles are fired from a bench rest at paper targets. This rule applies to regular business hours; so you can finally sight in guns in the above mentioned calibers for the new Indiana deer season. Please make sure that you follow this rule to the letter, so that FNS sets a good example for all MCFG club members.
5 magazines or speed loaders is now the minimum requirement. If you do not bring enough magazines to complete all of the strings of fire, you will receive the maximum time for the strings of fire that you were unable to complete. We will not allow shooters (or their friends) to load magazines at the shooting line in between strings of fire, as it slows down the shooting procedure for other competitors.

With our numbers continuing to grow we ask that everyone does their part to make the match run as smoothly as possible. Be ready when it is your time on the firing line. Help to reset the steel. Volunteer to keep score.
If you're new to competitive shooting, we encourage you to check out the following site. It shows upcoming shooting events for 3-gun, Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup), Bowling Pin Shooting, Cowboy Action Shooting (SASS), ICORE, IDPA, Multi-gun, Steel Challenge, and USPSA. The sight is now listing results for FNS so be sure to check them out.

Don’t forget about the Bowling Pin Shoot (Fourth Saturday) at Marion County Fish and Game.

If you have any questions, let me know.

    Sincerely,
    Anton C Howard

"As to species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with a ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks." Is this a standing line shooting event? I mean do you stand at one place and engage the different targets? I saw a video and that is what it seemed like. Why the need for 5 magazines? The video did not seem to have that many targets.

    Yep.

Why the need for 5 magazines?

One is expected to bring to the line enough mags/ammo to complete all 3 of his runs on a given stage without having to reload mags. Factor in that some stages have more targets than others, there might be a mandatory reload or two, some guys are shooting single-stack guns, and some guys even (gasp) MISS occasionally, and you see how it can add up.

The number 5 is, IMO, an average; you might actually need more or less, depending on the variables outlined above. I usually bring 5 mags to the line when I shoot my pistol (whether or not I need them), but only a couple (32rds each) when shooting the carbine.

Watch VUPDblue and bigcraig's squad, and you could learn some new words. Or at least learn innovative new applications of the classics. There was a reason why HICKMAN's video had to have a music soundtrack overlaid on top of it... :):

Our squad can get a bit "salty", to say the least.

I haven't made up my mind on what to compete with.

    1) S12, still haven't had time to zero the new RDS.
    2) 22/45, again, need to zero the new RDS I put on it.
    3) G34, it is ready to rock.
    4) Serbu, there is a fine line between pain and pleasure.

I am leaning towards the G34.......
