I finally have a bad experience while carrying unfortunately. I stopped over to my fathers house, he wanted to go to town and get some beer since he had consumed a few and wanted me to drive. I haven't drank a drop, so my father wanted me to drive. I was like okay, and we went. I forgot that I had my Limited Edition CZ 75 on my side. (Really need to post cz porn but thats another thread) Anyways we get there, I walk in the liquor store, he doesn't notice anything until I grab some beer. Automatically gets really crappy with me, and goes You can't have that in a liquor store!!!! I was like what can't i have in a liquor store, forgetting i even had it on me. He said That handgun, your lucky your ****** (not a cuss word just deleting names) boy, or I would call the law on you right now. My reply Sir, I have looked at the Indiana Codes and a bar or liquor store are not prohibited places for a firearm, now you can ask me to leave, and if I don't you can press me for trespassing and that is it. Are you asking me to leave sir??? No, just don't bring it in here next time. I was like okay, that is no problem. Well pop always gives them a hard time, in a joking manner, and so on. He got really crappy with my father, he was like pee'd me off and I don't wanna hear it. He was looking at me. I asked him, Did i pee you off, and he was like Yeah, you can't have that in a liquor store. I looked at pop and I was like Pop, I dont think we need any damned beer from here, and just walked out. At this point i was pretty pissed, and it was the best thing i could do. Well about 5 minutes later pop comes out with beer. I was like you didn't catch my hint did ya. He was like no why what happened..

Anyways i got home hopped on the net, and nicely printed out all the prohibited places and so on. Took it in to him (this time disarmed) and said if you don't want to loose anymore customers that come in here for the camping/fishing/hunting season, you may want to read this. Laid it on his desk/cashiers area. He said wait, what is this. I go its ever handgun law for the state of Indiana to my knowledge. (got it from handgunlaws.us i believe) I said go to page 4, it shows prohibited places. He was like A bar or liquor store is not on here. I said That's correct. He said the ABC (????) said that it was illegal to carry a firearm in a bar or liquor store. I said its not, It may be some places but not here. Then we had a good discussion, and he now has absolutely no problem with me carrying in there. I'm also having him ask who ever told him that, ask him for the IC code, because I would like to know if im wrong.

I think i handled it pretty well.

Some folks don't want any attention. You just helped all those folks for the future by dealing with this one guy's misinformation well, making a positive impact for everyone.

    Great outcome. :yesway:

ABC officers are tools, if he would have said Excise Officer then it would have been game on.

Excise is part of the Indiana State Police and should know that a firearm is not forbidden.
