Who do you call and how long do you wait for a reply?
I believe the number is 867-5309 here locally. The young lady that answers the phone( Jenny if I remember correctly) Will "run your numbers" She is the only one I can turn to. She will give you something to hold onto. I had her run the numbers on a two tone Tommy gun here a while back and she made me so happy when she told me it was okay to make it mine!!!!
It's also not a good idea to hand a prospective buyer a gun inside his vehichle ,as he can drive off and leave you standing there embarassed. Have him to get out and stand outside his vehichle
Keep in mind:
Many gun shops don't care to have private transfers done on their property.
One reason can include: The appearance of impropriety / straw sales by said gun shop should someone be observing
Another good reason is that most all shops offer to do transfers for a nominal fee.
By doing a transfer on their property but not utilizing "them" for the transfer, they kind of see it as a small slap in the face.
MY advice: Walmart, Starbucks, Gas station, PepBoys, Burger King, Rural King, KMart, etc etc.

thats a great point Indy_Guy_77. The shop I worked at in MI would straight up run you out of there for selling guns in the parking lot. I also wouldnt wave it too much. You may be ok and within your right, but the cops and court will make you spend money to prove it.
How about meeting at a range to complete deals? The buyer gets to try the gun and nobody will be frightened at the sight of a gun.
Gun range sounds pretty good 2 me. That way U can shoot it & make sure it works.
Sorry, but if I m selling U a gun I m taking down some info (name, address, maybe DL# or plate #) & it goes in my gun safe, & U would be welcome 2 do the same.
If ATF comes 2 my door saying that weapon was involved in a crime. I m not going 2 be standing there saying, uh I sold it 2 some guy! If that s a deal breaker so be it!
At the Crown Pt. gun show, which I m going 2 in a few, the sign says no deals outside the door. I thought that meant rite outside the entrance, did that mean in the parking lot also?
I think a gun range would be ideal....
Who do you call and how long do you wait for a reply?
I've never had anyone balk at letting me hold that information privately, I have 16-18 copies from the last five years including a handful of members of this site. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, I understand the privacy concerns, but I haven't ran into anyone yet that felt it was compromising theirs given the circumstances. I offer the same info to those that I meet FTF for transactions and always hand them my business card.
I've always used McDonalds. Wal-Mart seems like too big of a parking lot to be able to find the buyer/seller. McDonalds is just the right size IMO.
I call BS on this one..PD's will NOT "run the numbers" just to check for you..
I think that you are just "Pulling this guys chain" See above..
The ONLY way you will get a LEO to "Run the numbers" is during the course of an investigation of said weapon.
They will wait for a LONG TIME....Bill.
It depends. I have seen a LEO run numbers for a friend while we were all sitting aroung the table talking and I would imagine that other departments would have told him to go pound sand. Same way that some will help when you lock yourself out of your vehicle and others will not.
