Even{sic} seen a shoulder holster? Is that irresponsible?
Broadly? Yes.
(Assuming you mean an '80s horizontal rig like a Jackass or Miami Classic. It's as irresponsible as a pair of parachute pants, there, Eddie Van Halen. )

Add this to the fact that half of the "gun owners" in this world treat their firearms like crap and don't maintain them.
You mean they do idiotic stuff like throw them down steps, and hit them with hammers??
Apparently, you are correct.
Dont forget throw them from a roof too.
I am not trying to get everyone to throw their guns off their roofs. I am just pointing out that it wouldn't be unsafe to do it.
Throwing a gun off your roof can be dangerous. You could lose your footing and fall off. I do not recommend throwing a gun off your roof.

So if the tab on the striker or disconnector breaks, the transfer bar breaks, the trigger safety breaks, the trigger falls, thus disengaging the firing pin block, it is possible that it will fire.
All of which is as close to impossible to actually happening as you can get.
Yes, I know. I rethought that position. I have come to the conclusion that it can be dangerous.
So is it a fair statement, based on your post, to say; "Discharge when dropped is technically possible, although highly unlikely." ?
I'm confused.
Have we decided that it's okay to do something dumb and pointless and potentially dangerous because there's only a minor chance that it will put a hole in something in which we do not want to put a hole, just to prove a point about how awesome our gun is on the internet? Is that where we're at? Yes?
Dang, but I love me some internets!
