The photo with the light is just like my current G-SHOCK. Can't read the LCD at all in the dark even with the lamp on.
I like the looks of the all black more, but the "negative" LCD, even though it looks better, is really hard to see unless you're in direct light. I have a reading light on right now and I can't read the LCD on my watch. I think that one would be the same way. So if I do buy another watch at some point I'm going with more contrast even though I like the looks of the all black better.
I dont really have a need to see the date or any of that in the dark anyway.At night I just want to be able to see the time.
And I agree with you, it's easier to read the positive LCD than the negative one.I tried in the shop with 2 different models.
With the negative ones you really have to be right in front and not at an angle on the side.
