When I lived in Lawrence, MA, back in the early 70s, we considered anything up to 6"-8" snow flurries. If we woke up and saw 18"-24", we'd be like, "Hey lookit! It snowed last night. KIDS!! Time to get up for school!"

I lived near the coast in NJ and we'd get screwed routinely by these storms. It would start snowing like mad, then it moved partially over the ocean and picked up warm air (spinning counter clockwise). Then we'd get rain, go to school, and watch our 10-mile inland friends get a foot of snow.

It has been fun! My town touches Lowell which got I believe 30 so far. It is still snowing ( a lot less) but possible blizzard conditions until 8pm.

So funeralweb, is that thing hard to do in reverse all the time? Get a kink in your neck?

It's not bad at all, thankfully. I would recommend one to anybody that's ever thought about getting one. PTO-driven so it throws snow where you want to at 2500-3000 rpm. I use a bucket loader on the front to handle what INDOT throws on me from the highway. Might mount some mirrors to that and maybe a gun rack.
I cleared my property, the local cemetery drives and 8 elderly neighbor's drives this past Monday and had zero discomfort. Kinda looking forward to what's coming this weekend.
Still, it's this time of year I start wishing I owned a funeral home in the Keys.....

I talked to my daughter in Massachusetts earlier this week. She was disappointed 'cause they only got about eight inches of snow. I asked if the kids went to school, and she said, "Oh yeah. That's not nearly enough snow to close the schools here." She lives just north of Springfield.

No kidding? I am a little south of Lowell and we got nailed pretty good. Schools were closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Local college was closed Thursday as well. 3-8 inches predicted for tonight! Should be a fun addition.

I'm kind of looking forward to some snow. Expecting about a foot or so over night Saturday into Sunday. Then lake effect.
My poor Toro snowblower is bored sitting in the shed.
