The only time I do is if I wear my shoulder holster, which is not to often. Other than that no I do not.
With gun, cell phone, wallet, keys, pocket knife, smokes/lighter...etc. I already have enouph stuff I'm gonna need a backpack pretty soon.
I also see it as one more thing to give me away. If you see someone with mags, well then they probably have a gun. The extra printing is just one more thing to catch the eye and draw someones Attn. that way.
I usually carry 15+1 in any of my carry guns (all 9mm) but if I just have the LCP (6+1 .380) I still dont carry extras, I just don't plan on a shoot out.
My girlfreind always carry's her P226 though, so I do usually have a bit of backup if need be.
Usually not for everyday carry. I feel 15 rounds will cover most self defense situations. Now if I plan on going into a rough part of town, then I'll put two on my weak side. But then I always have my Berreta .22 in my back pocket as well.
I don't ever plan on using more than 3 or 4 rounds, which is why my mag in the gun and the round in the gun are magtech 45+p and i keep fmj in my spares. I figure if I need more than what I have in the gun It's not gonna matter if a bullet goes through a bad guy and hits another bad guy hehe
When carrying a semi-auto, always at least one spare, no matter how many rounds in the gun. The mag is the weakest point in a semi-auto, and without a mag it's at best a single shot.
If I am carrying a single stack, 1911 or PPK/s, I will carry one extra mag and I will carry one extra speed loader for a revolver. If I am carrying a double stack of 12 or more then no I will not carry an extra mag. I figure if I get myself in a position that requires more than 5 rounds or so, it was probably a bad decision to go there in the first place.
