Cricket ID ?

This critter appeared to fall from the top of the door inside my walkin closet? Maybe just caught it in the middle of a jump?

This one seems oddly colored with noticeable spurs. Maybe normal, but I've never seen one close?

In hindsight, I've seen these in the small sump basement in my house. Often in a mouse water trap. I guess it catches cave crickets too?

Are cave crickets any kind of a problem under my house?

I had a roommate in college who INSISTED they were jumping spiders...LOL

The fact they only had 6 legs ment NOTHING to the biology major...still jumping spiders....LOL

But seriously, yes, camelback cricket. Not really harmful themselves, but they are a sign of dampness issues. If you have them inside, may want to check your humidity level and see if you have any leaks.

Yeah, cave cricket. Creepy as hell, but not harmful, other than reasons already mentioned. I see them occasionally in the cellar, mostly in the cooler months.

This is the first time I've ever seen one inside.

I live in the middle of a 2 mile slope. They built the basement for the sump pump to move out the ground water flow.

Not that *I* would have ever used someone's terror of spiders... ahem, certain critters... to elicit what I perceived as hilarity on (many an) occasion, myself. Nope, I would certainly NOT have been involved in any such shenanigans. Not that I'd admit to, anyhow.

SWMBO is not afraid of any of that - spiders, snakes, bugs all elicit no reaction.
