So, I'm gonna have to go with you guys on this one... even though there doesn't seem to be anything image-wise that would indicate the pic was photo-shopped all the fisherman I know would not be laughing as much as those guys are... it'd be more of a "how cool am I?" look.

I was thinking an 'Oar fish', but they are both very similar - deep water lampriforms.
