I was thinking of going to Socal for the holidays. My family is all out there and are trying to escape. But, I bet if I buy tickets now, California will end up closing down by the holidays.

Please stop top buying in to their panic porn because the actual death counts were not bad enough to scare all the people...

Cases continue to spike as they have since the later part of September:

Those hospitalized with COVID and the portion of ICU beds (currently 24.1% was [strike]8%[/strike]10%) with COVID have tripled in that same time frame:

And daily deaths due to COVID are up from 8-10 per day to 25 per day (2.5-3x). Based upon the surges in hospitalizations and ICU cases, those will likely continue to rise for the next 30-45 days even if the case rate turns around.

Orange County is pretty closed down. It was starting to open up again, and then Newsom dropped the hammer. I'll be interested to see how things have changed when I head back out there in a couple weeks.

OMG 27 new Covid deaths today! Wait, only 14. The other 13 deaths were from other days. Whatever. 167 people die in Indiana every single day. The bigger question is how many total deaths have happened? We won’t know. **** this ****. **** the scared bull****. **** it all. Take your mask and shove it up your ass because it’s nothing more than a ****ing placebo at this point.

Just heard Holcomb say he was deploying the National Guard on Nov 2nd to protect long term care facilities from covid :/

I don’t know if I’m glad or scared he’s using Covid as a cover to deploy and protect our state for the upcoming riots.

First off we know the numbers are cooked and have discussed that to nausea. Second we have a pandemic brought to us by the Chinese communist party. It is real, a very small number get sick, and an even smaller number die. The virus is being used for political advantage. Just cold hard facts.

Vigo county is on track to go to "red" status, whatever that means. The issue is that I know of one nursing home that went from four cases last Saturday to 40 on Thursday. A friend lost him mom due to it (she had other issues). The issue with the "red" status is that it doesn't take into affect communal living where people don't leave. That doesn't affect people outside of their community other then the workers (who I assume have protocols in place for them). If they shut down anything due to "red" status, some places might not come back. Plus if they shut down indoor dining, guess what, people in Vigo County who want to dine in will go to Clay, Parke, Vermillion, Sullivan and other counties to eat.

I have an old friend who works for INDOT, who has a coworker whose elderly mother lives with the coworker & his wife.
She caught CV & he had to stay home & care for her.
She died w/i 7-10 days & he has CV now & is home quarantined.
I didn't hear about his wife.

According to the CDC 70% of covid patients got covid wearing a mask faithfully.

Right up until they went into a restaurant or bar, when they took them off to eat or drink. From the link you provided, which identified those as specifically high risk activities:

like i has said before.....stopping a virus with a mask is like stopping mosquitoes with a chain link fence....

The American Chemical Society Nano technology folks would beg to differ with you... it's not like they've spent their whole career studying how microscopically small particles behave, things like Brownian motion and electrostatic charges.

It's how N95 masks filter particles smaller than the "holes" within the material.

I have not worn an N95 mask in the ER in three months

even in rooms with known sick covid folks. most of my partners aren't either, but they are readily available. not even under lock and key anymore.

yet today I took over for a doc at a slow moonlighting place that wore a P100 respirator with a surgical mask over the exhalation area :dunno:
